I just purchased this about a month ago from a friend. It had been working fine. I arrived at my destination Tuesday and found I could not get the LCD on the back to display anything. I have tried reseating the battery (it was freshly and fully charged), pressing all buttons to ensure none are stuck, swap lens, swap memory card, and power cycle.
Does anyone have any more suggestions? It still works otherwise and if I take a picture, then hit "play", Delete, Delete I can see the memory card being accessed and the picture deleted.
I'm really hoping we can find a resolution to this that does not involve a repair shop.

Welcome to Nikonians!
Are you by any chance inadvertantly pressing one of the shutter release buttons (most likely the one at the bottom of the vertical grip). Pressing the shutter button disables the rear LCD. This is the most common cause of the problem you are having.
Try locking the vertical shutter button and give it a try.

Locked that shutter button (I assume that's done by rotating that dial to L) and still no joy. I can't review pictures or get to the menu settings to be sure we're all on the same page.
Please let me know if you have any other ideas. I've googled this and not found ANY other people with this issue so it's damn fine luck if it managed to happen to me.
Thanks for the help so far.

Sounds like the LCD is broken or the ribbon wire connecting it to the camera is loose or broken. Unfortunatly I think the next step is to send the camera to Nikon Service or a Nikon Authorized Service Station.
