Hi Everyone, I just purchased a used D3x with 9570 clicks on the shutter. ( it is a USA model) Going on a photo shoot sunday. Babies christening. In a church and then there home. Using a flash but bouncing up and away from the twins. Any advise on the camera? I did the firmware up grade.
John, You already shoot with a D3S so you should know what to expect. The D3X shouldn't be much differnt than a D3/D3S. I've considered adding a D3X to my kit, but haven't encountered a situation where I needed more pixels than my D3S has.

To gain anything else but resolution you need to keep the D3x ISO in the 100-200 range. You increase the ISO any higher you will loose most of colour and dynamic range benefits the D3x offers and there's only the 24 vs 12 Mpixel benefit.
Churches rarely offer good lighting and flash photos in a church can be tricky due to high ceilings and annoyances it creates for the participants.
If the church is not well lit and dont allow ISO 100 sessions hand held with the D3x I would go with the D3s which is the God of Darkness in churches.
You can then let the D3x shine where light's not a factor with or without some fill in flash back in their home.

Hi Everyone, I shot sunday at a church for a christening with flash. Pic turned out great in the church with flash ( sb800). Skin tones were very good. colors were right on. Out side at there house no flash again colors were good. The only thing was the cameras buffering it was a little slow, to view the picture I had to wait a few sec. Other than that the camera handled great.
