Nikon D3X - What is the largest capacity CF card that you have used?
Hello all, The last firmware upgrade for the D3X, gave support for 64 GB cards… however when I emailed Nikon tech support for this information… for an Updated “Approved” CF card list…. Well to put it as politely as I can… TOTALLY USELESS… (Seems as if it’s …just buy our products and go away!)
Soooo, regarding the D3X… what is the largest capacity CF card that you have used, and were there any problems? Have you used a 32GB, or a 64GB, or even a 128GB card?
Is it UDMA 6 or 7, what write speed is listed (i.e. 400X, 600x or sometimes it will say 60mb/s, 90mb/s) ?
Rob Galbraith's CF Performance Database indicates that the D700 and D3s are compatible with Lexar Pro 1000X: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB cards. While there is no data listed for the D3X, I would suspect that it is compatible with the same cards. Especially since the D700 was introduced before the D3X.
The list on Nikon Europe is interesting but either outdated or incomplete. For example, I'm currently using the latest Lexar Professionals (1000x, UDMA 7) in my D3x. There's a 32 GB in slot 1 and a 16 in slot 2 - usually set for overload. haven't had any issues with those.
