I have the D300 and D4. The D300 is a 1.5x cropped body and, with the D4, I can select various options as to the image area I want to use, including 1.5x.

I plan to go to the Kodiak Island to take some wildlife pictures. I plan to take my 70-200mm and Sigma 150-500mm lenses. Any reason to take the D300 if I can do the same with the D4?
