I find that during AF tracking in AF-C mode, my hit rates appear to be 50-50. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

My settings are AF-C, 9 AF point, A3 short

My main subject is wildlife. One of the main reasons for buying the D4 was its high burst mode and its ability of capturing subjects at great speed.I have tried surfing the web on information on configuring the AF for different wildlife situations ( similar to the Canon 1DX "cases):

- Static subject (no brainer)
- Laterally moving subject
- subject moving towards you
- Subject moving erratically
- Subject moving in and out of its environment

Any thoughts?? Is my A3 setting to blame??

Thanks and regards
Sharookh
