Few day ago, I bought SB26 for my D80 - and got D1 body for free! (shutter was making problems and the guy didnt want to send it to repairs, so I got it for fun).
He did send me a photo shot with D1 a day ago - so I guessed it works!

But today, I recharged (old EN4) battery, put CF Sandisk 256 MB sdcfh Ultra, in memory slot - and got card icon blinking (CD error, REM 0).
D1 wont shut, ofcourse. Also, can't turn on main lcd.
If I pull out CF, D1 will shut! (AF is working, all buttons are working, except Display)

I've tried with Sandisk Ultra 2GB, also sfcfH, same result.

Is it battery problem, memory card not compatible (sdcfH vs sdcfB) or just bad D1?
My problem is that I dont have other brand of CF card or better EN4 battery...

I'd be very happy to make D1 works - without sending it to repair center - my kid would like to use it

Any advice?
