I just purchased a D4 that does not come with the LCD Screen protector. I've found a protector I like to try by GGS which is made of real glass which I like. I've found several stores that carry the item but all are over the waters. It gonna be a long wait to receive the product.Very big $'s spent and I would like to protect the investment asap. Anyone knows if any store in the states carry this item ?
I have GGS screen protectors on all my cameras. I think the are well worth the small cost. When they are installed you aren't even aware they are there. GGS protectors are essentially permanent. They can be removed by lifting the edges with a razor blade, but once removed they cannot be reused.
I've had no problems buying my GGS protectors from Hong Kong or China.

Yes, that is my experience with the GGS protectors. They are excellent for the price and I hardly notice it on my D4. I also have one on my wife's D5000 although now I cannot flip the screen to close it with the screen facing the camera because the protector is nano-meters oversized. But that's okay because now the screen is protected. I'm going to be getting one for my D800 now that they are available.

I ordered these and got them in within 5 business days. I can see why you recommended these... awesome product. Perfect fit for my D4, you can't tell they're on the camera. Easy to apply. No bubbles.. no waiting for spray on solutions to dry. Came with three sets of three pieces ! Shucks, I took the LCD one off just to check it and replaced it with ease.. no adhesive residue.. etc !! Love it !!
Thanks again for your help in finding this product !!
Thanks guys, I have been looking for something like this as well for my D3s and D700, just placed an order from Amazon (BestDealUSA) total for both cameras and shipping $23 can't beat the price. Have been looking at Giottos but are very pricey assume for the same product.
I had been wondering the same thing. I have recently discovered Nikon's own screen protector for the D4 (they also make them for other models), which has their product code LP-SD4. These were £16.99 (inc. VAT) from the online Nikon (Europe) Store.
This is a hard protective film to protect from scratches. It has a non-reflective blue coating which they comment is non-reflective high-brightness reducing reflections from the monitor and providing a more precise hue and contrast. Consists of three custom cut films (one for each LCD) and there is a spare of each in the package.
They were very easy to apply (no bubbles) and came with a lint free cloth to clean the screens first. So far so good. In my opinion these would not protect from a really strong impact but should be a very useful first line of defence. They fit slightly inside boundary of the screen and visibility is good.
I'm pleased to have them in place and was pleased to use something that was actually made by Nikon, rather than a third party - especially given the value of the camera.
