An Observation About the D4/D3/D2/D1 Forum
It's interesting that the D700 and the D800 have separate forums while the D4, D3, D2, and D1 are all addressed in one forum. Reason?

Nikon states the D800 is an entirely new class of camera and is not a replacement for the D700.
Whereas the D4 > D3 > D2 > D1 are upgrades of the previous model.

The D3 and D4 are FX while the D2 and D1 are DX.
I think the reason for the separate D800 forum is the huge amount of traffic. Made it difficult to find D700 messages.
To my mind, there should be a FX forum with some sub-forums for the different bodies, day D3 and D4; D700 and D600(?); D800
There could be a pro DX forum for the D1, D2, D300 and possible D400.
But what do I know
Of course, that begs the questions of the difficulties that this repesents for the developers of the site. But things do seem to be getting a bit disorganized.

That's correct, and we're not seeing that same issue in this forum. Everyone should keep in mind that we have far more sub-forums than similar websites and past a certain point there definitely is more pain than benefit.
