This is anecdotal evidence. I charged the new EN-EL18 battery and shot 515 RAW images with Image Review turned off. There was no flash attached. My habit is to turn the camera off between shots or shot sequences to preserve the battery. Upon checking the battery meter it read 87% capacity remaining. If you can extrapolate that to a fully exhausted battery it would indicate that the capacity is 3961 shots. I am happy with that.

I have a similar experience, same yearly event with lighting conditions I shoot, image review on, using flash and to me with no data to back this up, the battery life on the D4 was better by one bar than my D3s when I got home to recharge them both. Similar shot count on both bodies Richard
The rep said they set a D4 up in a trade show and got 27,000 shots from one battery charge. It is a long video and not well done, but has quite a bit of information that might help anyone thinking about a D4 or has one ordered. It is not an easy clip to find without the link.
