I phoned them last week and it seems that the camera was passed to a subcontractor. The camera was working and is in A1 cosmetic condition except for the occasional wrong exposure. Obviously passing it to a subcontractor allows Kingston to receive the payment from Japan for the repair whilst taking a discount off the subcontractor. Also the subcontractor can up the repair requirement again Nikon getting a percentage without them carrying responsibility for the action.
I was promised that I would be phoned last Friday to explain the situation. I still await the phone call.
I'm interested in anyone else's experience with service advisory faults.
Henry
