Wireless shutter release for D3
Does anyone here have experience with the following wireless RF shutter release?
Name: RFN 803
Components: Trgger, Receiver with shoe-mount.
Number of channels: 16
Manufacturer: S.M. Development Co.
Country of manufacture: Korea
Rated operating range: 60-80 meters
Price: Canadian stores: C$129-$169; Amazon.com US$46.99
I currently use a pair of Pocket Wizard MultiMax to trigger my D3. I would like to switch them to the D300s and trigger both cameras simultaneoulsy. Prefer not to spend money on another pair of PWs, notwithstanding their longer range.
Thank you and Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukkah to you all, and a blessed 2011.

I am not familiar with the RFN 803.
You don't need another pair of Pocket Wizards.
Since you already have the Pocket Wizards you will only have to add 1 more transceiver (MultiMax or Plus II) and a motor terminal release cord. The MultiMax transceivers will allow you to sync the shutters of both your D3 and D300S to fire simultaneously as you want when you press the test button on the transmitting unit.
I will bet that the RFN 803 uses different frequencies that the Pocket Wizards so syncing the shutters to trigger simultaneously will be impossible.
While the MultiMax units are not inexpensive they are very versatile and have functions that other triggers don't.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
