We have a International Karate Kumite Tournament this Weekend. I decided for several resons (Image-Number,Publishing, Image Ordering etc) to use digital equipement.

Aktually, I wanted to buy myself a D100, but it did not make it in Time. (First Demos this weekend in local Store (Nikon-Shop - Z├╝rich) ...grrml)

So I ordered a D1x from Nikon for Testing.

My Problem:
-It's an Indoor Tournament. (artifical light)
-It's full contact. (disturbing can have inpacts on health of Competitors)
-I'd like to take a LOT of Pictures. (use the gear if u got it)

Since I used to fight myself, I know flashlights are annoying. You hate to risk a KO for a good picture ...

My Question:
what are your experiences and tips/hints in shoting high ISO (>400) with the D1x using NO Flash (AF-speed, noise, colors (artifical light))

Lenses at Hand:
AF28mm/2.8, AF50/1.4, AF24-85mm/2.8-4, AF80-200mm/2.8

Offcorse my F90 an some rolls of good old (B/W) highspeed film will be at hand to backup...
