D1/H/x viewfinder w/Dk-17m versus D2H/Hs/x/xs w/out
I've never used a D2-series camera. I understand that my D1H has 0.8x magnification and 96% coverage, while the D2 bodies have 0.86x magnification and 100% coverage at a slightly lower eyepoint (not sure if eyepoint influences perceived size).
I have the DK-17m on my D1H. It has a 1.2x factor. So that gives my camera 0.96x magnification with 96% coverage. Now, theoretically, this sounds like a much larger image than the stock D2 bodies withstandard eyepiece. For those who use both, is this the case in practice? Which is larger -- the D1 with dk-17m or the D2 without it?
Oh, and by the way...can one use the same focusing screens in the D1 and D2 bodies?

Short answer, no. The D1 series use the same focusing screens as the F100 (and I believe that the only options you have from Nikon are the B screen which came stock with the camera and the E screen (which has the gridlines)).
