Yet another D1x battery story
I got my D1x a few days ago (supposed to be Nikon factory refurb), and my MH-16 charger yesterday. Hooked the battery up, and the light went green in like 5 minutes. Battery icon flashed when I installed it and pressed the shutter release half-way to activate the meter. So, I did the refresh. Same thing. Flashing icon, shutter disabled. No idea how old the battery is, so I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and head for Battery Barn.
There's tons of Delkin batteries on EBay...has anyone had any experience with those?

I have a set of two Maximal Power EN-4's that I got off of the big auction site for $40 for two of them. I have good news and bad news about these. The good news is that they're 2700mAh, much longer lasting than the 2000mAh Nikon originals. I can get about 1000 NEFs per battery per charge, no joke. They work great. The only complaint I have about the batteries is that the latching mechanism is very cheap; they have already broken on both of them and I've only had them for about 4 months. You can still latch and unlatch them, and they stay in whatever position I put them in, you just have to use a fingernail to move the mechanism. I remedied this by replacing one of the latches with the one Nikon battery that I had that was bad, and it works fine. The other one I just deal with. And they last a while on standby too, probably two weeks. I haven't had any experience with the Battery Barn batteries, but I'm pretty impressed with the ones I got. Just my 2 cents.
