Hello gang, I'm interested in tethering the D2X to a local computer via a pair of USB cables and Nikon software as an interface.
I imagine there is a considrable download time for a raw image. IS there a way to set my camera to capture RAW+JPG but only send the JPG to the computer to reduce download time? Thanks, newbie to tethering.

I think Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.2 is already fast for Raw+JPG. I'm using it with D3 (bigger files) so D2X will be the same or faster.
it's near Bali, if you don't know where it is

TetherPro is another alternative that will allow you to tether your camera to your PC. You can read about it at www.TetherPro.com. I also offer a 50% discount to all Nikonian SGP members.
Unfortunately you can't just download the jpg as the raw will sit in the cameras buffer and use up space. The buffer will only fit 5 or so raw images, depending on your camera.
Hope that helps
