Dear all,

I have an option to buy a Sigma 300mm f2.8 APO (non-EX, old version) for $750 to use with my D1H (I have a very limited budget so this lens might be the only way for me to go 300 f2.8).

I intend to use it to shoot birds in low-light conditions. I already have a 300 f4 AF-S, but this one might be very useful in certain conditions. I need AF for motion tracking, so MF lenses might not be possible choices.

I tried a lot to search for information about this lens but found almost nothing.

Have you ever used the lens? If you have could you please comment on:

1. Its compatibility with Nikon cameras, esp my D1H and D70s

2. Its ability to work with Sigma EX TCs

3. Its AF speed in such camearas with strong motor like D1H, compared with other lens as 300 f4 or 80-200 f2.8

4. Its IQ

Thank you very much,

Thanh.
