I just returned this weekend from my first Africa trip with my D3 after spending a couple of weeks wandering around South Africa from Kruger to the Kalahari. While I got some wonderful shots, I experienced a fairly consistent overexposure issue. For example, this admittedly-mediocre shot of an eland stampede was taken with my 200-400mm at 380mm; AFC; 21 points; 1/800 @f/9 (shutter priority); ISO 400; no exposure compensation, auto white balance, and multi-pattern metering. It's horribly overexposed...any idea what's going on?
Thanks.
