On #5 high iso nr, if set to high it does a great job of eliminating noise but softens the image a bit, but, if left off or low, and then noise reduction done in PP, isn't it still going to soften the image?

RAW for studio/portraiture/weddings/product photography, jpeg for sports (indoor tennis/basketball). Capture NX RAW converter & color adjustments better)and CS2/CS3 (brush tools better for retouching).

Colleague has been using Dr Russell Brown's PhotoMerge Action sequence to use Camera Raw for Raw to JEPGs and saved in several resolutions and quality settings as an automated batch process in CS3 after basic toning (exposure, white balance and tint.
