I am having issues configuring the WT-2A to my laptop. After going thru the Setup Wizard, it states "Connection Established". When I activate the Wireless function, it displays that it is waiting to Pair.
The Wireless Connection software sees the D2x, I click on the ID and it comes back with a error msg, "The Camera has denied the access for this PC. Please refer to the camera documentation for help."
I have spent hours trying to configure the wireless functionality and any help would be appreciated.
As far as I remember, if you're using PTP (point-to-point) connections such as Camera Control, you have to use a router. You can buy a wireless router that gets its power off your laptop's USB plug for about $40. It's about the size of a credit card, so you can just throw it in the camera bag.
If you want a direct camera-to-laptop connection, you have to install an FTP server (not client) application on your laptop, then configure your camera for FTP instead of PTP. Apparently this is the way to go as it allows you to save RAW files on your CF card while transmitting JPG's to the laptop, so the image appears faster on your laptop. I always used it in PTP mode and love it, it's just a bit slow transmitting RAW files.

The problem is encountered when you are attempting to pair when the D2X battery is either not fully charged or is not on mains power. This seems to be an undocumented feature although there is reference to power reqirements at the top of page 15 of the WT-2 manual
The solution is to fully charge the battery before attempting connection again, to use the external power pack EH-6 or to extend the menu timeout to maximum.
