Mr. Rockwell got his first hands on experience with the D3/D300 plus the 14-24 2.8 and 24-70 2.8 -- His initial thoughts on his "Today's Updates" page. This was posted today, Saturday Nov 10, so you'll have to scroll down the page to find his thoughts as he updates his site.

He likes the AF a lot... and then there's a whole lot more.

Edited to correct the lens from 12-24 to 14-24 2.8, my bad, my brain when to the the 12-24 when thinking wide zoom as I own the 12-24.

Also, I realize that KR tends to generate negative feedback around here, but I decided to post regardless. I'm not a pro and I don't agree with KR half the time. Like him or not he's got hands on with gear many of us are waiting for so I thought it was pertinent.
