From what I gather, the WT-1a is the US model of the WT-1, and has one less channel. Will the WT-1 work here in the US? I'm looking to buy one for my D2H, and can save a few bucks buying the WT-1 over a 1a. Are there any issues that I need to be aware of before buying the WT-1/1a??
The WT-1 is approved in the European Union and other places. It uses more (I thought two) channels than the WT-1a. Technically, the WT-1 is not legal to sell in the US. It will work just the same as a WT-1a. Unless you have a "hacked" or non-FCC-approved (i.e. EU-purchased) wireless access point, you will not be able to use the extra channel(s) of the WT-1.
Just be aware that the WRT-1 series operate using the 802 11.b standard, so they have much slower data transfer speeds than the WRT-2 series in the infrastructure mode. If you intend to go ad hoc they are the same.
