D2Hs Backup Body-D40/X or D80
Been asked to shoot a wedding in a couple of weeks. I only have my D2hs. I am curious what a decent backup body you all recommend. I am leaning towards either a D40/X or D80. I have plenty of glass all AFS so the D40 wont be an issue.

I think it depends on whether it will be a second body or a backup body.
If it's a backup, I don't think it matters much. You're not really going to use it. If you do, you won't mind so much that all the controls are different, you'll just be glad you can keep shooting.
If it's really going to be a second body, meaning one that you'll be using while you are using your main body, you really want one that has controls that are as similar as possible to your main body. If you're at all like me, you'll end up having your controls "memorized" in your fingers. Then when you switch from one to another, you'll be doing the wrong things. I do this with a D2h and a D100, and it drives me nuts. I cannot wait until I get another body that has similar controls!

As Brian said, control similarity is really important in heat of a shoot. I tried to use a D200 as backup to a D2X and could not get used to the differences in controls and menu when in a hurry. It may result in missed shots for you.
Batteries are different with the D80 and D40X than your D2Hs. Same with Flash card for the D40X.
