As Hamlet would say, WT-2 or Not WT-2, that is the question.

I've just started tethering. Yesterday, I mastered the USB version. I've got a WT-2 I've never taken out of the box.

Basic Question: Is the WT-2 substantially slower than the wired version?

I'd love the freedom of getting rid of the USB cable -- but I don't want to lose even more speed.

I've done a search on this forum, and have not seen recent posts. I know a lot of you have experience with this, and would deeply appreciate some current feedback.

Here's some info:

I use Sandisk Extreme III cards in the camera.

I have an Airport Extreme network in the studio.

I will connect to a G4 12" PB with an Airport Extreme card in it.

I think that should cover the set up.

So, should I take the Wt-2 out of the box and set it up, or return it? The key to me is how much speed I will drop to get the freedom of losing the cable.

Thanks.
