D2X Pictbridge compatibility (or not?)
I wanted to use a Pictbridge printer to "See" the shots I was taking on location (I find the LCD difficult to see under bright light and a laptop to0 expensive to lug around).
Great, I thought, Portable Pictbridge printer, instant polaroids.
I've set the D2x as recommended, shot with a small jpg and alas, no pictbridge!
Tried 3 different D2x cameras (all at firmware 1.01) and 2 different Pictbridge printers (known to work with a compact pictbridge compatible camera). I can get "PRN" on the camera but no pictbridge menu.
Any ideas anyone? I've asked Nikon to look at it as well.

This might be the solution or not.... however I believe I remember that in the USB menu of my D70s and D2h I had to set it to either mass storage or PTP to work with the printer. I don't remember which at the moment but after making that change it worked OK.
I always want the next model up!

Thanks Brad, it's PTP. I did this. The camera recognises that there is a printer there (I presume), as it shows "PRN" on the small LCD window, the preview Screen activates but no messages.
I was wondering if anyone out therehad got this to work? Are there any other settings to check? I tried it with different CF cards in case that was the problem.
