D2xs upgrade, D2Hs upgrade to follow?
I know this is speculation, but I had seen some posts a while back on the potential for a D2hs upgrade. It seems for sport shooters with the 8 frames a second, and the ability to handle high ISO that a 8 meg. or higher upgrade would make this the ultimate sports camera. I shoot with a D200 now and I am considering the D2x with the recent price drop,(faster focusing, high speed crop, etc over my D200) but I'm concerned with the HIGH ISO. I use the D200 at 1250 ISO when shooting hockey and it does a fine job with it.. Any thoughts on waiting for a fall announcement or should I jump on the reduced D2x? Thanks

Do you mean a firmware upgrade or a new model? I believe that the Fall firmware upgrade will also be available for the D2Hs, but I don't think that has anything to do with improved NR abilities. I certainly haven't heard anything about the D2Hs being replaced.
From what I hear, the D2Hs handles high ISO well.

No question the D2Hs handles noise well. My point was do you think an upgrade is coming increasing megapixels to 8+ for higer resolution, color saturation, larger prints, etc. with that upgrade and the focusing system it would be the camera of choice. The colors and resolution I get from my D200 are outstanding, but as mostly a sports shooter I could use the better focus system in the D2Hs. I do posters and prints often i the 16x20 range.

There is a rumor that the D2Hs will be replaced soon but I think that the D50 and D70s will be replaced this year with a replacement for the D2Xs and D2Hs late next year. Only a guess.
