Just had a thought. When using the 100NCDX2 folder which is what the camera was set to, the image number is now 143. Is that the 43rd image of the 100 folder? If so, I assume Opanda is taking that as the shutter actuations and stating it as 143. That would mean 43 actuations which is about right and the D2X was probably set to 0.
Thanks for the responses on the LCD cover question. I think I got a couple of cameras that had been pulled from the production line by Nikon for testing, hence the actuations. Seems that they didn't test the accuracy of the focus sensors though
My D2X had "1" shutter click and did not have a plastic film (like on cell phones and other things). It did/does still have the big hunk of plastic as a protective covering.
I do wonder about the "folder name" explanation... seems logical. Have you checked Photoshop to see the number of actuations (File/File Info/Advanced/http://ns.adobe.com/aux:ImageNumber) or another program?
