The aperture adjustment under the shutter release on my D2x is very stiff. I thought at first something was caught inside the camera body binding the wheel. Found that the rubber underneath is creeping up agains the wheel. I can push is down, but before long, due to the way I hold the camera when idle, it comes into contact with the wheel again. I really don't want to send it to Nikon for such a minor issue. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what you've done to fix this?
yeah for some reason this problem has been around since the d1 (f5?) and hasent been addressed yet, but yeah a razor blade did an excellent job on my D2h and I havent had any problems as a result of yet. If you ever have to take it into nikon in the future they replace all the grips anyways (they have to to get into the innards) so you will have to do it again.
I know its an expensive camera and many people want it to look perfct and everything, but i see it as a tool, a work horse that I cant afford to lose to send away for weeks just for a minor inconvienience that I can improv myself.
