With all the hand-wringing, petitions, etc. over Nikon's requirement that the camera be returned for a firmware upgrade, I was wondering whether it is technically feasible for us to do it ourselves. Does anyone KNOW, without speculating, precisely how the upgrade is done for the D100? Is it through the CF card, the serial cable, or through some other means? Perhaps it is not possible, as a technical matter, for us to do it ourselves. I can't think of a good reason why Nikon would want to incur the massive expense in terms of labor and shipping costs if it were a simple, at-home procedure.
