I believe the ML-2 and ML-3 will work with the D-100 if you have the MB-D100 grip attached, plus the conversion cable.
The MB-D100 has the 10-pin connector to allow remote connections (such as the MC-20 and MC-30 cords), but no such port is available on the D-100 without the battery grip. I also believe the ML-2 and ML-3 have the 2-pin motor drive connection, so you will also need the 2-pin to 10-pin connection cable.
I've been looking into this as well. I have a set of Quantum Radio Slave 4i's and they make a Nikon motor drive cable attachment (2-pin) for them - just trying to justify the cost of the motor drive cable and the 2-pin to 10-pin converter.

What you say sounds promising. I do have the MB-D100 and I have been using the MC-20 but I didn't know about the cable adapter.
Now I need to find that cable adapter and either a ML-2 or ML-3.
Thanks for giving me hope!

The D-100 owners manual on page 182 states the ML-2 requires the MC-25 adaptor cord, which is the two-pin to ten-pin conversion cable. The ML-3 will also work, but doesn't say it needs the adaptor cable, so maybe it has the 10-pin connection already.
