1. These lines show the effective aperture at either end of the zoom (e.g. f4 @ 70mm, f5.6 @ 210mm)
2. These marks denote the IR focus index (for use when shooting infra-red)
3. That's just to show the pseudo macro focussing range. As depth of field is so shallow (and the focussing scale fairly inaccurate) there is no real point in marking this part of the scale with distance figures.
When I bought the lens it had not been used for several years, I put it on my D50 last night and found the Focus ring gets a little tighter while focussing towards the infinity end ... Worked the lens back and forward manually and it has improved a bit but under autofocus I can hear the motor labour a little harder while focusing at this end ...
Any top tips ? or do you reckon I may just have to live with it being like this ...?
