I finally feel a need for an ultrawide lens. But I am debating between a zoom and a fixed. I can't afford a Nikkor 20-35, but might wait for my bonus check and get a Tokina 20-35 instead .
I currently own one lens, a Nikon 50mm f/1.8, and I am planning to add another. Any ideas?
Here's the price comparison for inquiring minds.
Nikon 20mm f/2.8D AF........................$ 430
Tokina 17mm f/3.5 Aspherical AT-X Pro.$ 430
Tokina 20-35mm f/2.8 ATX Pro............$ 700
Nikon 20-35mm f/2.8 D-IF Aspherical....$1,400
Anyone have prices for these lenses in Amsterdam?. I will be travelling and have a layover in Amsterdam, and if they are cheaper plan to pick one up?
Thanks in advance.

Go for the 20mm/2.8 Nikon
I bought this last year and its lived on my F5. Very sharp.
Great for scenary and car/aircraft shows. Hardly used my 50/1.4 since I got it. In fact if I was only allowed one lens this would be it.
Wouldn't bother with the zoom as I expect you would leave it at the widest setting most of the time
