hi it's me bomb...
i was going to buy nikkor-zoom 80-200mm f2.8d af-s if ed at first but i've been thinking about my priority.i already have this focal length ,it's sigma 70-210mm f3.5-4.5d apo macro.
the problem is the f-stop is a little too slow ,the af is real slow and i've lost the switch that let you choose between tele or macro.but anyway,
it's still working the same way like it was the first day i bought it.how about buy the af-s later.
i don't have the wide angle length. nikkor 18-35mm f3.5-4.5d if ed looks real good to me.do you think i should go for the tele first or the wide first.what do you think about this lens?(18-35)
help me get trough this please...
enjoy the life of photography!!!!!

It really depends on how fast you need the lens to be. If you are concidering buy the Nikkor 80-200 to replace you sigma (which you can sell as 2nd hand lens for a fair price) then that might be a smart idea. it is a lot faster, and of course, it's Nikon
I recommend going to a sigma-dealer, and ask for a new switch for the tele/macro setting, so that you have that problem solved, because having it stuck on either one of those setting isn't ideal.
The 18-35 will be about half the price of the 80-200, So know what you want before you start buying. Perhaps getting the 18-35 now, is a more costefficient idea than trading in your old sigma lens and getting the 80-200 =)

I use my 80-200 AF ED (non AFS) a lot. This is a superb lens and I probably use it for at least 70% of all my shots, even if it's not small nor lightweight. Some shots done by it can be seen in our current 2nd assignment
I don't have any experiences with the 18-35, so can't help you out on this one, but my secondly most used lens is the Nikkor 20mm/2.8
