I just acquired the EARLIEST version of the Nikkor 35-135 AF zoom lens, with rotary zoom function. Could someone kindly tell me if the HB-1 is the appropriate hood for this model?
Thanks very much, Bob

According to my book, "Nikon Lenses", by Moose Peterson, that is correct. The HB-1 is the correct lens hood for that lens, however the lens in that book is anotated as the 35-135 f3.3-4.5 N.
The picture show the lens as having a wide focusing ring. You say you have the EARLIEST... if by that you mean the thin focusing ring... I can't be certain they are the same.
Again however, my origional "Nikon Handbook" also by Peterson, which was published prior to the modification of focusing rings states that the HB-1 is the proper hood for that lens.
