My gear; F100, 24-85, 80-200/2.8, sb28, filters. Now I need a longer telephoto lens. Pls advice! I cant afford a true first class lens due to price and weight reasons, so I want a decent lens, compact which delivers good photos.

Compact? The 80-400mm VR is smaller than your 80-200mm
Delivering? You bet. Take a peek here
Another option is to get a Kenko Pro 300 series TC for your 80-200mm or a Nikkor TC14E or TC20E.
I would recommend you get the MB-15 grip for better balance and handle.
