I went to Amazon to check the price of the Nikon 300mm f4 lens. Amazon crossed out $1369.95 and said "add to cart" to see their amazing low price. Their discounted price? $1369.00. Woo hoo! Cheers, Dave

I've wanted that lens for years. I'm holding out until Nikon releases an updated version and it hopefully drives down the cost of used/refurbished ones. The 300 f/4 screwdrive will have to serve me until that time.

In late 50's that 95¢ would buy a good 4-5 lb beef roast. I remember going with my dad and filling up the back seat of the '54 Chevy 2 door with paper bags of groceries and he would have spent $10. Of course when his pay was about $70.00 a week That was big chunk of change.
