They're hard to beat, especially the 28. You might consider the 50/f1.8 AFS instead of the 50/f1.4 - roughly half the price, probably a bit sharper, definitely a bit quicker for AF. The last 2/3rds stop of aperture is not so significant in these days of routine shooting at ISO 3200 or above.
You might also consider a 24-120/f4 AFS VR, although it's $1300 - relative to the D800's price it's a budget lens too.

Welcome to Nikonians!
Both the Nikkor 28mm f/1.8G AF-S and the 50mm f/1.4G AF-S are optically excellent and will perform very well on the D800.
In fact, the 28mm f/1.8G AF-S is on the Nikon List of Recommended Lenses for the D800/E.

A second vote for the G version of the 50 1.8. It is an amazing lens. So much bang for the buck. Light-weight but not cheap feeling. Smooth controls, fast focus, incredibly sharp. Just a joy to use. Brand new it's under $220 from B&H and other big on-line camera shops -- and that gets you a 5 year warranty on it as well. To me, it's a must have in any shooter's kit.
