Question about Refurb Lenses from Nikon Outlet.
Was considering a 70-300 VR as a gift for my wife. Can anyone say for certain if refurbished lenses purchased from the Nikon Outlet include any accessories (hood, pouch, etc). I would appreciate hearing your experiences.
Is it worth paying $359 at somewhere like Cameta (vs $309 shipped for me from Nikon Outlet) for better service (or so I have heard?), longer warranty, and the guaranteed included accessories (caps, hood, pouch)?

Welcome to Nikonians!
I have never read any complaints that Refurbished Lenses or Cameras for that matter didn't come with all of the standard accessories just like a new one.
The vast majority of reports discribe refurbished gear looking and performing like new.
Unless things have changed, Refurbished gear includes a 90 day warranty compared to new lenses that include a 1 year + 4 year Nikon USA extended warranty for a total of 5 years.
Since they are discounting the refurbished 70-300mm VR by about $280.00 compared to a new one it sounds like a great deal since the percentage is much higher than usual.

You get all of the stuff you get with a new lens, except only a 90 day warranty and a different box. I've bought several Nikon refurbished lenses and have never had a problem with one.
