I have wanted to go with FX from the time I bought my first DSLR, so I never bought DX glass. I am now debating between the D7100 and D600. Either way, I am selling the following lenses:

1. 28-105/3.5-4.5D AF
2. 70-300/4-5.6D AF
3. 105/2.8D AF Micro
4. 20/2.8D AF
5. 24/2.8D AF

Either way, I am keeping the following:

1. 105/2.8G AFS VR Micro
2. 200/4 AF Micro
3. 300/4 AFS
4. 80-200/2.8 AFS
5. 50/1.4D AF

I am selling the wide primes since they are 2.8 just my 17-35/2.8, so I want faster primes to give a speed benefit over the zoom.

I plan to get the following primes either way:

1. 28/1.8G AFS
2. 85/1.4G AFS

If I go FX, I would keep the following two lenses:

1. 17-35/2.8 AFS
2. 28-70/2.8 AFS

The issue is if I stay with DX. The two above lenses work great with my D200, but are not covenient zoom ranges for DX. I am thinking I would sell both the above lenses and replace them with the following:

1. 17-55/2.8 DX AFS

I just am not happy with my current lenses regarding zoom ranges if I stay with DX, which was not my original plan. There is nothing wrong optically with them.

Am I thinking logically if I stay with DX? There is a less lens problem if I go FX, but the D800 is more money and the D600 is not as quick as the D7100 in AF and its AF sensors are grouped too close together. Thanks a lot Nikon!!!!!!

I may just bite the bullet and get the D800, but I don't want to close my mind to the best camera and lens combinations.

I am really looking forward to a 28/1.8, 50/1.4 and 85/1.4 trio for when I prefer speed over using a 2.8 zoom.

Shoot nature with respect and don't trample it or startle its inhabitants. :)
