28-300 VR or 70-300 VR?

I have both lenses. They are both good lenses. Lately, I have grown more and more fond of my 28-300 VR as a travel/universal zoom lens on a D800E body (I didn't feel good about this lens until my recent trip to Panama last November; but using it almost exclusively for 10 days made me appreciate it a lot more).

Question: if you have both lenses as well, why are you still keeping your 70-300 VR lens? Also, when do you still prefer to use it over a 28-300 VR? I know, it is a good value lens. But it this situation it is becoming somewhat redundant, doesn't it? Plus, a 28-300VR lens is supposedly a higher quality lens than a 70-300 VR.
