Hey, Nikonians;

I like my i8-70 AF-S lens; it is very sharp--in the middle and on the right side, looking at my monitor, but decidedly unsharp on the left side, on both my D50 and D90. It gets better from f/4.5 to f/8, and less from 18 to 50mm.

This is a salvage lens I had rebuilt, and used with satisfaction, until I tested it. It's on my D50, which the wife uses, and she will probably never notice.

I don't want to sink more $$ into repair, so I will probably sell it for parts or whatever, and buy another one. I'd like to have the 16-85, but, econmics being what they are...not this year.
