I have been using the Sigma 150-500, and decided to upgrade to the 600mm. I also purchased a 1.4 teleconverter. My shots have been blurry, and trying to figure how to properly set both the lens and the camera. From reading previous posts, it would seem that I should use a single focus point on my D800 instead of the 3D tracking...right? Also what should I set the various switches to on the lens itself? Tripod or normal? Which of the three settings for the AF would you start with? I want to learn the basics of this beast before I even think about using memory focus points, etc.

Oh, I am shooting primarily Eagles, as well as some songbirds with this lens.

Thanks for your input!!
