I'm looking for a lens to fill in the range between the 16-35mm wide angle (for landscapes) and a 70-300mm telephoto. Assuming that money isn't an issue (ha!), which lens would you recommend?
24-70mm f2.8
24-120mm f4
24-85mm f3.5-4.5

This would be for an FX. I don't have one but I'm considering upgrading from my D80. If I'm going to spend a ton of money on a camera, I'd like to get the best bang for my buck on lenses. I'm guessing this middle lens would be used for portraits and travel. Could I get away with using my 70-300 for those things and not buy a fill-in lens?

I appreciate your input.
