I dropped this lens a year ago and had it serviced by Nikon - and for basketball - which I shoot a lot - it is great. Outdoors, it is great

What happens in the studio, with modeling lights - I have it set for single shot and autofocus. The first 100 or so pictures are great. All of a sudden, it starts having problems getting autofocus. I put the center focus points on someones eyes - or I try the lips - and it will not focus. When I switch to another lens - usually the 24-70 - autofocus works like a champ.

BTW - Camera is a D3S

Any ideas?

Should I just send it back to Nikon?
