Greetings, I am new to this site and Nikon equipment. I would like to know if it is possible to use a telex converter with a Nikkor 10 - 300 mm 3.5 - 5.6 DX lens. I looked at the chart you so generously provided but I am at a loss to interpret. Thank you

Welcome to Nikonians!
None of the Nikkor TC's will even mount on the 18-300mm or any other slow zoom.
The 18-300mm was never designed to be used with a TC.
I don't have an 18-300mm to check but the rear element on some super zooms could hit the front element of a TC destroying both the lens and the TC in the process.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!

As Marty notes, current Nikon teleconverters will not allow the 18-300mm to mount, and there's a real risk of elements hitting each other if it could mount.
Kenko is the usual alternative source of teleconverters, but Kenko does not recommend them for zoom lenses that have a range starting under 50 mm.
So I think it's best to assume you can not use a teleconverter with this lens.

I've never tried it, but I'd think a Kenko Pro 1.4x should work. I have that teleconverter and have tried it on my 18-200 and it works fine, and even seems to focus in relatively low light. I've never really USED that combination, just TRIED it to see if it would work, because I have longer lenses. But, because the Kenko works with the 18-200, I figure it is likely to work on the 18-300 also.

If anyone wants to try that combination, PLEASE be careful.
As the other posters above pointed out, having the glass elements of the TC and lens come into contact will do neither any good! Using the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x on the 18-200mm Nikkor, the glass comes very close; the 18-300mm may not be so lucky.
I would go with the others and recommend not using a TC with this lens.
