I bought new DX lenses for my D5100. Now I'm wondering if there is any use/advantage of my older lenses I had from the time when I used my F60 film SLR.

My new lenses:
AF-S 55-300 DX VR Zoom Lense
AF-S 18-55 DX VR Kit lens
AF-3 35mm DX f/1.8G Prime Lens

My old lenses:
Nikkor 28~80 F3.5 ~ f/5.6 f-AF-D
Sigma 100-300mm F4.5-6.7 AF-DL

I tried them on for size and they mount well. They are of course manual focus which is something I can live with if there is any advantage to these lenses. Would my Sigma be a better long zoom for distant objects?

Otherwise I suppose I can try to sell this set to someone still interested in film photography. I still have a couple of unexposed rolls of film and a couple of unopened batteries (but they would be circa 2001).
