I'm about to buy this lens and was reading on the Adorama website that this lens is both VRII and supports tripod mode. The description reads:

http://www.adorama.com/NK2485R.html?kbid=912610

Auto Tripod Detection: Nikon's Vibration Reduction image stabilization system recognizes when the camera is mounted on a tripod and provides precise shutter vibration correction.

Is this a typo? I would use it on a tripod but thought tripod VR was for long telephoto lenses.
