I am considering adding a 35mm prime to my kit. It appears that the only good options for use with my D800 are the Nikon 35mm 1.4D AF-S or perhaps waiting to see if Sigma's new 35 is any good. I'd like some guidance.
If ypu can live with MF, I suggest you have a look at the Zeiss 35/1.4 or Zeiss 35/2.0. The f/2.0 version is my most frequently used lens. It is small and unobtrusive. The IQ is magnificent and you can get sharper focus using LiveView than with AF.

As well as the Zeiss there some good older MF lens out there too including a f/1.4.
I have the light and bright 35mm f/2 D but it's not that special, and you've already got some fine glass covering 35mm?
I am very interested in the Sigma but I don't think there are any user reviews or image samples out there just yet.. There is an open thread on the Sigma in the third party lens forum which you may want to watch...
