Teleconvertors and depth of field
Using the new DOF Nikonian calculator how does one calculate depth of field as follows with a
Nikon 300 mm f/4
Easy with 300 mm alone... but with TC
Does one use f/4 or f/5.6 with 420 mm (300*1.4)?
I understand that we loose 1 stop of light with the TC, but has the aperture size been reduced also, and so should be use 5.6. If the aperture remains the same then f/4 should be used?

Use the effective focal length and aperture of the lens + TC combination. With any recent Nikon lens, TC and DSLR these will be the values that the camera displays or writes into the EXIF info.
