I just returned from a trip to Rocky Mountain NP and met a lurker on this forum who said he was using the Nikon 70-200 lens with the tc2 III and claimed the results were off the charts. O course he showed me no photos. Has anyone tried this combo---he claimed it was as good or better than my 200-400 lens.

I was wondering--if the tc20 iii would work on my 200-400 if used only in good light. Nikon says it won't auto focus but in good light I could use manual if the image quality was good. I hate the tc1.7 but I've read where the optics in the tc2 iii are supposed to be better.

Can't find a camera store in the area that has the tc to even try it out in a store.

Just wondering, inquiring minds want to know.
