Vignetting on 24-70mm

Hi -

Took this photo earlier today and was surprised by the very obvious vignetting in the corners. Using Nikkor 24-70mm lens on D700. I had L37C UV filter on, too.

Shot at 1/6000 sec, f/2.8, 70mm, ISO 200

Any advice on what I should do to prevent this would be much appreciated. This wasn't a keeper so a good mistake to learn from!
